Can you believe it’s already February? According to Puxtatony Phil the groundhog we should be looking forward to Spring soon, but I have a feeling that he might be wrong this year.
The store has a couple great opportunities for you this month to get involved and to serve your community. First, we are continuing our Paper Hearts chain, which is helping us to fill the store with love and encouraging thoughts. All you have to do to participate is stop by the store and fill out one of our Paper Hearts with a favorite Bible verse, encouraging quote, or a message of love. We have had lots of fun reading all of the hearts so far. You can also leave a comment on our Facebook page, and we’ll fill out the heart for you. We “borrowed” this idea from a great fiction book by Courtney Walsh called, “Paper Hearts”. The main character of the book owns a little bookstore in Loves Park, Colorado, so we are a little partial to her story. The book is on sale right now for 50% off so you can read it and see how we found our inspiration.
The second opportunity is one of our favorites each year–our 3rd Annual Soup-4-Bowls can drive has officially started. Just bring any can or non-perishable food item by the store between now and February 13 and we will donate everything to the Agape Resource Center located right behind our store on 6th Street. Last year we collected over 100 items! I know we can do even better this year. As an extra incentive, you will receive a free gift for bringing in 1-4 items, and if you bring over 5, you will receive 2 free gifts! Also, everyone who participates will be entered to win a $50 gift card! Ready, set, go!
